Ankita’s golden success on the second day of World Transplant Games

Sports Edge : Today, Ankita Srivastava won one gold and one silver medal representing India in the ongoing 24th World Transplant Games in Perth city of Australia. Ankita Srivastava had won the silver medal in the 3000m race walk on the first day yesterday by coming second with a timing of 23:54.71.

Ankita jumped 3.07 m in the long jump and won gold by coming first, India’s Tony Tony won silver with 2.63 and Britain’s Claire Hartley won bronze with 2.40. In the same throw ball event, Ankita won 28.27 Coming second in the shot put, she won the silver, while Uganda’s Nabwanuka Sumaya won the gold with a throw of 31.63m and India’s Deepa Savitri won the bronze with a throw of 17.72m.

The World Transplant Games is a celebration of life’s second chance, showcasing the success of transplant surgery and promoting the need to raise public awareness of organ and tissue donation.
