DESIGN TO REDESIGN HUMANITY
The investiture ceremony of St. Joseph’s Convent School, Idgah Hills, Bhopal, for the year 2025-26 was held on 5th July, 2025. The theme of the ceremony was “Design to Redesign Humanity”.
The Chief Guest for this occasion was Mrs. Poonam Tatwawadi, an accomplished badminton player at national and international level. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades, she has represented Madhya Pradesh and India in numerous tournaments and won several awards. She has been the recipient of the prestigious Eklavya Award.
The Guest of Honour for this occasion was Mr. Vivek Tatwawadi, a towering personality in the world of Indian Badminton. His name is synonymous to passion, discipline and unmatched dedication towards sports. He is a recipient of the prestigious Vikram Award and has many more achievements to his credit. He has represented India on many occasions in both singles and doubles category.
On arrival, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were greeted with a general salute by the school band and escorted by the NCC squad to the open auditorium.
The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were welcomed by presenting a green sapling, a symbol of growth, positivity and lasting impact.
The program began with lighting of the lamp ceremony.
In her key note address, the principal and President of the school parliament, Dr. Sr. Lilly said, “The investiture ceremony marks the induction of new student leaders who uphold the tradition and values of the school. Leadership is not just about wearing a badge; it is about serving others and leading by example. As young leaders, let your actions unite, not divide. Let the school motto VIRTUE ALONE ENNOBLES be the light that guides every action you take.
A colourful rhythmic prayer dance was performed by the school dance group set on the tune of the devotional hymn ‘sarve lok kripa sharanam’.
A very meaningful prayer service was performed by offering flowers to the Lord to invoke His blessings. This was followed by a theme song by the school choir “Halaat badalna hai, halaat yeh badlenge, Gar hum mil kar chalna seekhein sansar badal denge”.
The solemn proceedings of the investiture ceremony began in the presence of the Chief Guest, the President of the School Parliament Rev. Dr. Sr. Lilly, and other holders of various port folios.
The Prime Minister of the School Parliament for the year 2023-24 is Wania Alam and the Deputy Prime Minister is Saumya Gupta.
The newly inducted Cabinet Ministers, Captains and Vice-Captains of the four houses (Gandhi House, Tagore House, Nehru House and Tilak House) and the class ministers took their oaths and received their respective sashes, badges and flags from the Chief Guest Mrs. Poonam Tatwawadi in the presence of the principal and President of the school parliament Dr. Sr. Lilly accompanied by the Sports Officer Mr. Ravdeep Singh Malhari.
The Chief Guest, Mrs. Poonam Tatwawadi encouraged the students with her words of wisdom. She said, “The role of a leader is very challenging. The leader has to face challenges and live up to certain expectations and standards”. Stressing on the importance of sports, she said, “Playing sports brings all round development. Sports trains a person to celebrate victory as well as face defeats. Everyone must take up at least one sport irrespective of one’s age”. The Chief Guest was presented with a memento by the principal Dr. Sr. Lilly.
The vote of thanks was proposed by the Prime Minister of the School Parliament, Wania Alam. The program concluded with the National Anthem played by the school band.
