Sant Hirdaram Girls College Hosts Two-Day District-Level Inter-College Girls Tournament & Selection Trials

Sant Hirdaram Girls College successfully organized a two-day District-Level Inter-College Girls Kho-Kho Tournament and Selection Trials, bringing together young athletes from across the city in a vibrant celebration of teamwork, skill, and sporting spirit.
The event witnessed an esteemed gathering of dignitaries. Mr. Prateek Bhatnagar, Chief Engineer, Merchant Navy, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Alok Mishra, Director, Physical Education Department, Barkatullah University, Bhopal attended as the Special Guest, motivating students with his encouraging words. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Satish Kumar, Sports Officer, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, and Dr. Sunil Sharma, Chief Coach, Narmadapuram Division (MPCA), who shared their valuable insights on discipline, dedication, and athletic excellence.A total of five teams—Sant Hirdaram Girls Collge, Bhopal, Sarojini Naidu Girls College, UTD, MLB, and VNS—competed in the tournament, displaying remarkable skill and determination. After exciting matches. Sarojini Naidu Girls College secured first place, UTD Department secured second place Riya Singh (Sarojini Naidu Girls College) was awarded Player of the Tournament, while Prerna Verma (UTD Department) received the Best Player Award, recognizing their outstanding performances.
In addition to the tournament, four colleges participated in the selection trials: Rajiv Gandhi College, Maharana Pratap College, BSSS, and IPC College—reflecting strong participation and enthusiasm at the district level.The event aimed to encourage girls’ involvement in sports and promote a culture of healthy competition among institutions.Principal Dr. Dalima Parwani appreciated all participants and congratulated the winners. She emphasized that “Sports are an essential part of life, teaching discipline, resilience, and life lessons. Everyone should actively participate in such events.”
Dr. Meenu Tahilyani, Dean, Computer Science, expressed her gratitude towards Organizing Secretary Dr. Shanti Sharma and shared her happiness that Sant Hirdaram Girls College had the opportunity to host this prestigious tournament. She extended her best wishes to all selected players for the next level of competition scheduled to be held at Sehore on December 6, 2025.
All participating colleges expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the tournament. The selection list was also announced promptly after the final match by Dr. Shanti Sharma, ensuring transparency and efficiency.The management and faculty of Sant Hirdaram Girls College extended their heartfelt thanks to all dignitaries, participants, and organizing members for making the event a grand success.
